Twelve Months Old

Such a bittersweet day when my little man had his birthday last Thursday. It's been an unbelievable year. It's been hard. It's been exhausting. It's been anxiety-filled. But most of all, it's been wonderful.  My heart has grown because of this little innocent soul. He has taught me so much about empathy and patience, and I am beyond thankful for my sweet Baby Jace.

We had a big birthday bash this past weekend, so on his actual birthday we kept it simple and went out to eat at Knoxville's newest restaurant...Drake's.

He certainly enjoyed his birthday broccoli dinner #meanmom

The next morning, he had his one-year appointment.  He measured in at 29.75 inches (75%) and 22 pounds, 12 ounces (55%). He's healthy, happy, and has a great sense of humor.  That's all I've ever wanted for him.

Happy Birthday, Baby Toddler Jace :)

The Garage

So I am the absolute furthest thing from a "neat freak." Call me conceited or call me lazy, but I think my skills are far above/different from cleaning and organizing.  It bores me to tears. Basically, Josh and I have lived in our home for almost four years now, and we have been able to park a car in the garage for a total of one week (and this was during a three week sober cleanse).

We tend to have people over at the house A LOT, and this means I try to at least keep the living areas clean. And by "clean," I mean I throw all of our crap in our garage and office. My long-time friends get it and don't judge anymore, but it's really embarrassing when we have new people come over.

Jace's big b-day bash is this upcoming weekend, so I spent ALL day on Saturday trying to make that blackhole look like a garage again.  Literally...from noon to 6:30, I cleaned. and cleaned. and cleaned.

So...it's far from perfect, but at least it's acceptable!

Currently taking bets on when that couch gets used as a bed :)
