Josh and I are so proud to introduce our sweet little man:

7 Pounds, 9 Ounces
20.5 Inches Long
Please enjoy his very first photo shoot...he's a natural:
I mean...total model in the making, right??
Well...after about 12 hours of labor (including 5 hours of pushing), Jace was brought into this world with a vacuum. He was clearly not happy about it at the time.
I will spare you all the gory details. It's just a lot of grossness.
Due to high blood pressure on Tuesday's visit (150/100), the doctors decided to induce labor. I will say that I had such a great support team in the room with me. Besides the absolutely phenomenal UT doctors and nursing staff, my husband, sister, and mom were there cheering me along for the five hours of complete and utter hell. It was of course worth every bit of pain in the end. Special kudos to my wonderful husband who I originally said had to stand behind me throughout this whole labor process. That idea got thrown out the window after about two minutes, and the poor man saw and heard things that no man should ever see or hear. I am waiting on the divorce papers to show up any minute (just kidding).
I like to call these pictures "the calm before the storm":
Words do not even describe holding your baby for the first time ever. Wow. So much love that it hurts. I literally felt my heart get bigger.
We finally made it to the recovery room after midnight.
and now our story truly begins :)
Congratulations! He's beautiful. Marcos and I had that same "stay where you can't see anything" plan, but it also got thrown out the window when the nurse instructed him to "hold a leg". Don't worry...I think they block it out.
