Medieval Times - Atlanta

Because the aquarium was such a let-down, I was really worried about our trip to Medieval Times on Saturday evening. I had been a few times as a child in Dallas, and I really played it up to my family. Fortunately, I think everyone was pleasantly surprised by the good time we had! It was exactly as I remembered it, and the VIP front-row passes certainly didn't hurt.

Despite Jace being a bit sleepy before the show started, he ended up completely enamored at the events. In fact, I don't think I saw him blink for two hours straight.

The blue knight didn't win, but that didn't keep us from having a fun-filled evening. Cheers, my lords and ladies :)

Georgia Aquarium

Y'all, I was soooo excited to visit the Georgia Aquarium last weekend. I've heard such wonderful praises about this place being one of the best aquariums in the world! We got up early, got dressed, walked on over there, and.......were disappointed.

First off, we were packed in there like sardines. I'm talking more crowded than a concert. I lost Josh and Jace at one point and wanted to go hide in a corner, but there was no corner left untouched. The food court takes up like half the aquarium which I think is just ridiculous. It's separated into all these different segments, so everyone just stands in the common area all confused and crazy.  And heaven forbid anyone follow the "enter only" or "exit only" rules.

I did get a handful of decent pictures. Jace was somewhat intrigued when he could actually see the fish through all of the people.

Sorry, Jacer-pants. We'll try this again in Chattanooga someday :)

Weekend in Atlanta

This past weekend, we enjoyed an extended weekend in the brutally scorching Atlanta, GA downtown. A group of friends planned this trip awhile back to check out The Cure concert. Being preggers and sober, I refused to be around loud music. Instead, I offered to be the uber driver for the crew. This seemed like a relatively easy task until I found myself racing through the sketchiest parts of Atlanta for the sake of my "friends." We survived.

The COOL part was that for the second time ever, Josh and I got upgraded to the PENTHOUSE SUITE. Literally, we walked into the DoubleTree hotel carrying a case of Coors Light and a baby dressed in head-to-toe Dollar General clothing (I'm not kidding), and they upgraded us to the biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in. There were two penthouse suites in the hotel, so we occupied half of the ninth floor (including a ginormous rooftop deck). The views were not too shabby.

The furniture was older than dirt, but this place was bigger than the house I grew up in. With all of the space plus hanging with his cousins, Jace was in heaven:

His favorite part though?

I might just get him a landline for Christmas :)

Wedding Anniversary #2

Yesterday, my beloved husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. We've made it two whole years with NO jail-time and only a handful of hospital visits. We're doing waaaay better than I ever expected :)

Here's one of my favorite pictures from that special day two years ago:

Our wedding took place in a small town in New York with just a select few of our family and friends. It was simply splendid. The day went by too fast, and I could relive that day over and over and over again.

We celebrated the anniversary occasion at our favorite restaurant, Copper Cellar. The steak was phenomenal, and we only looked at our phones just a few times. Haha - Josh and I don't do a whole lot of date nights anymore (or ever for that matter).

Josh, being the sole wine drinker, got a little tipsy and decided to take a detour to Best Buy on the way home from dinner.

About sixty short seconds later, this was being hauled to our car:

Happy Anniversary to us :)

Spirit of Jefferson

Last week I had the pleasure of attending a work conference in Louisville, KY. This is just a wonderful city, and it was my first time to get to explore during the warm months.

My favorite part was our dinner cruise on the "Spirit of Jefferson" riverboat. We had a fantastic time cruising the Ohio River on a beautiful evening.

So many bridges connecting the north and the south:

Louisville (rightfully so) is very proud of their ties to Muhammad Ali. Can you see him in the building?

Just lovely :)

Happy Father's Day

Jace and I had a great time celebrating Father's Day with the most wonderful Dad in the world! Jace hooked his pops up with a Bushnell rangefinder (whatever that is.....). I guess the Amazon reviews work because Josh seemed to be thrilled about it!

We spent the morning all dressed up for a front-yard photo-shoot for his annual picture frame present.  I was pumped up about Jace's cute little outfit this year. Despite the lack of smiles, it all turned out adorable!

We had a pretty casual day which included brunch at Peros and the pool.

Josh also got to partake in a kid-free and wife-free evening at his favorite bar (in which he took FULL advantage of and might have got fussed at by his "loving" wife).

Regardless, we certainly love Daddy. He's the best. Happy Father's Day :)
