Jace Goes to Work

Our nanny recently took a family vacation, so I had the opportunity to take Jace on the road with me to get some sales! We spent the week in Kentucky, and little man did a fantastic job getting me orders!

I rewarded his good behavior with a trip to the Colonel Sanders Museum.  This is the original Kentucky Fried Chicken in Corbin, KY. Jace was less than impressed. I've always heard the Colonel was kind of a jerk anyway....

It was a great but exhausting week.

Thanks for being such a great assistant, little man :)

Broken Collarbone

Jace finally got over his nasty case of the croup by the last day of vacation, and we were so thrilled to have our child back. On our way back home from the beach, we stopped halfway and got a hotel in Columbus, GA. We let Jace run around to get some energy out, and within FIVE minutes of being at the hotel, he fell....and broke his collarbone.

Of course, we didn't really know it happened right away.  It was a normal fall...he didn't really cry, but then all the sudden he got really fussy when we tried to pick him up or change his outfit. We noticed he wasn't moving his arm...and his shoulder was all slumped down.

Two entire days later, we finally took the poor kid to the hospital. The x-rays confirmed that he broke his collarbone. You certainly wouldn't know it by how he was acting though:

Yes, this was my little devil child terrorizing the hallways of Children's Hospital with his broken collarbone. The nurse even said something about not thinking anything was wrong with him until she saw the photos.

The doctor basically said there wasn't a whole lot we could do about it. He said "no jumping off the furniture and no water parks," and it should be all healed up on its own within two to three weeks.

I still felt really bad about the situation. I stopped by the store and got him a little present that his one good arm could play with.

Oh Jacer-pants. I'm sure this is the first of many broken bones. Stay fearless :)

Cape San Blas - Dinners & Downtime

So my sister, being the overly-organized, type-A teacher that she is, decided to go with a theme dinner every single night while on vacation. We had Italian night, Taco Tuesday, Hawaiian night, etc, etc. She cooked scrumptious food, decorated every single night, and Jen prepared a music playlist to go with the theme. They outdid themselves:

Jace and I had plenty of downtime this trip, but the rest of the crew got to enjoy some R&R too:

Thanks for the memories, friends and family :)

Cape San Blas - Pool Time

Y'all - getting a house on the beach with a private pool was the most solid decision we made all vacation. ESPECIALLY considering the sick baby circumstance. When I was finally able to get Jace to sleep for a little bit, I could sneak down to the pool for a few hours of sunshine and relaxation.

There were so many front flips and back flips and games going on, it made me dizzy! We even got Jace down there a little bit for some fun in the sun. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but here are a few from our week in the pool.

So thankful for chlorine :)

Cape San Blas - The Beach

Unfortunately due to Jace's sickly condition, I was not able to spend as much time on the beach as I would have liked. Again, the weather was perfect and the dolphins/pelicans were plentiful!

Take me back :)
