A sober beach vacation a couple weeks ago got me back on track with my reading. I finished another book...and it was not good, y'all.
Meternity by Meghann Foye
Basically, this girl in her early 30s feels like she is being taken advantage of at work because she has yet to settle down and have children. She doesn't like the "special treatment" that pregnant women or mothers get at work, and the entitled little brat thinks she deserves a maternity or "meternity" leave too (because maternity leaves are all just relaxing and roses and rainbows, right? WRONG). She fakes her pregnancy to get what she wants. In the end she gets caught, yet everything ends up working out perfectly for her [insert huuuuge eyeroll].
Things I liked about it:
-the main characters name is Liz and her due-date is October 20th (mine is October 23rd)
That's it though. It wasn't funny. It wasn't believable. It was a huge slap in the face to all working mothers.
Not a fan of the author or the book. Period.
(My personal) Rating: 0.5 out of 5 stars
Sorry, Meghann. We just disagree...
