Without a doubt, Josh's sweet mom has given us the most special gifts for Baby Jace:
Baby Blankets
I'm a strong believer that a house can never have too many blankets. This might be because I like to leave our house at a brisk 59-65 degrees at all times (not even exaggerating). During our gender reveal party, Joan gave us two beautiful, hand knit blankets that we will love and cherish and hope to pass down to future generations.
The first one we pulled out is something that Joan has apparently been working on for quite some time. It's just perfect. My favorite colors are so dull and not too baby-friendly: brown and gray. And this blanket is a perfect contrast to that and to our nursery décor. It's absolutely bright, bold, and beautiful...every color of the rainbow with a pot of gold at the end. I can't wait to snuggle Baby Jace in his blanket as we rock the night away in his nursery. I just love how all of that color pops against the walls and furniture.
The second blanket we received tugged at my heart enough to bring tears to my eyes. Joan had saved Josh's first blanket after all these years. Waaaaaaaay back when...I'm talking like pre-historic ancient times...FORTY YEARS ago, sweet Josh was brought home from the hospital all wrapped up in this special gem:
It's so perfect for us...chevron PLUS our wedding colors? It was certainly meant to be. Not to be mushy or anything...but I have imagined sweet Baby Jace all wrapped up in this beautiful blanket as we carry him into his loving household for the first time. I've been praying for a little boy that looks, and more importantly, ACTS just like his dad. I hope this blanket helps to bring all those same traits that I cherish most about Josh: patience, loyalty, kindness, dependability, and steadfastness (just to name a few).
Joan - we love these blankets with everything in us. Thank-you so much for your thoughtfulness. We can't wait to wrap your grandson in all of the time and love that you put into these beautiful treasures. We love and cherish Jace's blankets...and we love and cherish Jace's Mimi even more :)
