Maternity Monday - Arts and Crafts

I never ever ever ever ever imagined that I would title a blog "Arts and Crafts." I also never imagined that I would ever go shopping on Black Friday. But I guess this baby thing has changed all of that as I experienced both this past weekend.

My mom and sister had the awful bright idea that we go register for Baby Jace and hit up the craft stores for Black Friday this year. I reluctantly agreed on the conditions that I could get up at my own leisure and someone had to buy me a Diet Coke.

We started out the day (at about noon) excited and fresh faced and ready to take over the Black Friday world:

and after hitting up the baby store, TWO craft stores, and stopping about 19 times for pee breaks...we came back looking like this:

Y'all...please do yourself a favor sometime and zoom in to Mom's face. I'm not sure if you should laugh your head off or be scared to death...but that rectangle face she's making sure is something else!

I maaaay have rushed inside the house and stress-ate half a chocolate pie before my sister put us to work to fulfill some Pinterest projects!

Kara busted out all of her best craft materials (glue gun, fabric scissors, canvas, an iron, etc), and Mom even busted out the needle and the thread to work on her project:

and my task? Ugh...painting. I'm so thankful we didn't name our child "Maximiliano" or something of the sort, because I nearly had an anxiety attack over painting FOUR little miniscule letters.  I most certainly won't be quitting my day job anytime soon...or ever. It took me about 90 minutes, two full bottles of paint, roughly three bars of soap, and Kara STILL had to touch up my beautiful artwork the next morning.

Despite my frustration and self-hate, I had a blast spending time with my mom and sister. We laughed until my stomach hurt so bad that I had to eat some pumpkin pie and take a nap to feel better.

Little Jace's adorable elephant has found a home on the crib. He kinda makes my heart squish a lot:

And Kara's Pinterest project has found it's home hanging on the wall above the crib laying on the floor waiting for Josh to bust out the hammer, nails, and level. In all seriousness, how cute are these wall hangings? I'm so thankful to have a sister that is so energetic, craftsy, and clever. This is going to look so amazing on my gray walls, and I can't wait to post some nursery updates soon:

and I know you're thinking it...that navy blue "Jace" looks simply amazing #patsselfonback :)
