Josh and I were so excited to host our first ever Thanksgiving dinner this year! And by "host," I mean I finally cleared out our formal dining room and bought cloth napkins for the first time ever. Y'all, this preggers does NOT cook (or clean). Like...Josh won't even let me preheat the oven. But of course my sister, brother-in-law, and mom saved the day for us yet again! And it was a total turkey-day success!
A special shout-out to Mom for passing down the Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving plate and Grandma's Fine China. I cherish them both :)
Mom and Kara slaved away in the kitchen while the men roughed it out in the cold. I was the official taste-tester #mostimportantjob
Yes...considering all the filth in my garage, I will admit that it looked a bit meth-labish at the Morrison household.
We also continued our tradition of a fried pickle appetizer. Tom has been perfecting this recipe for several years now and this preggers was absolutely delighted with the results this year!

Everything turned out just amazing. Y'all...I highly recommend being 6.5 months pregnant during holiday season. I had every excuse in the world to completely and guiltlessly engorge 12,000 calories. Nobody even judged me - pregnancy is awesome.
Per usual, I ended up at the kid's table. It's okay though...adult tables intimidate me with their proper manners and all:
I think the coolest part about our Thanksgiving is that Josh's family joined my family in sharing this special day together. It means the world to us that we can celebrate together...and not just in a "let's be polite" kind of way. It's a real, genuine, comfortable love. And of course we missed the family that wasn't able to be there with us...you were there in our hearts. (okay, okay...enough mush!)
And the other "cool" part of Thanksgiving? Well duh...when Scott and Camille showed up.
So much to be thankful for! Friends, family, health, shelter, employment. But what am I most thankful for? Celebrating good times! Cheers :)
