Last weekend, Josh and I braved the drive through the gorge to spend a night in scenic Asheville, NC. I've always heard absolutely fantastic things about this "granola" city. It was actually one of my top choices for a bachelorette party (we ended up in Greenville, SC instead-not disappointed). We were there to celebrate one of Josh's best retailers, and we even got fancied up for the occasion! I bought myself a fat-girl preggers outfit and new shoes and everything!
I was hoping to get some great pictures of the two of us all dressed up and ready to take the town (Josh was even wearing a SWEATER, y'all). Aaaand after deciding that I looked worse than a frumpy librarian (third trimester sucks), I let Josh take one picture. Guys...the back of my head is the ONLY thing that has not gotten fat:
I swear my hair dresser had my hair looking all good, and then I took a 45 minute nap in the car and ruined everything. Steven would kill me if he knew I went out with all those fly-aways. Whatever though, it is physically and mentally impossible to keep your
After spiking my blood pressure by watching Florida State barely win yet another stressful game, we called it a night and headed back to our downtown hotel.
The next day, I begged Josh to do a little bit of downtown exploring. We had an AHH-MAZ-ING Sunday brunch at Mayfel's. Like...top notch everything. Really fantastic service too. Can't wait to go back and try out two or five Bloody Mary's in the near future!
Our downtown exploring that I was so pumped up about consisted of a 45 second rush to get to Buffalo Wild Wings (ughhhhhhhh-gross) so we could watch the College Football Playoff announcement. Here's what I got of downtown:
(okay, this last picture was taken the day before...)
Josh totally owes me (and Jace) another trip to Asheville to really explore the city. But I was just as excited to watch the whole CFP thing...and we were thrilled to see our two teams make it to the playoffs! Fingers crossed and holding breath that it will be an Alabama vs FSU show-down in Dallas next month. If I wasn't in my third trimester, we'd already be planning our trip to my old hometown. Darn Jace...we'll forgive him this time :)
