Florida State vs Wake Forest

Look...I'm a huge SEC fan. I know some of y'all don't get it.  How can you just root for a conference? How come you have no loyalty? It really doesn't matter, okay? Just let me be me. Roll Tide, Go Vols, and I even really like Mississippi State and Kentucky too (among the rest of the conference).  Back off...it happens. I went to SMU, and I love them...and I would love for them to...like...just score a touchdown at this point...but the fans of the SEC are the best there are, and I just like being a part of that whole fandom. #endrant

So...that being said...last Saturday I cheated on my beloved conference. I put on my garnet and gold and headed to the beautiful Florida State campus to root for the Seminoles. I have to support the hubs every now and then and you know what? FSU led Josh and I to Pasadena last winter, so I'm not upset about jumping on that bandwagon.

Lori and Nathan were the first (and kinda only) friends I made entirely on my own in Knoxville...we're talking waaaay back to 2007. Who knew that Lori would eventually be my wedding photographer? and who knew that Nathan would eventually be a huge nerd professor at my husband's favorite university? It was fate.

What a view! Being friends with an all important nerd-professor means we get access to club level seating.  That means we get to participate in the all-you-can-eat lunch/snacks/desserts/etc (score for this preggers) and unlimited access to alcohol (ugh...sucks to be a preggers). It's even better than sky-box seating because you get to enjoy the game outside with your choice of shade or sunshine. I mean...these tickets have totally ruined college football for us.

Preggers has to have her sugary snacks!

Y'all...I really could go on for like 32 blog-posts on how much I adore Lori and Nathan...and I think it would make for some damn good entertainment, but I'll keep it short: Lori is a beautiful, kind, beats-to-her-own-drum, creative, quirky but conservative-ish type. Nathan is a dry, sarcastic, adventurous, extremely smart, kinda mean but drop dead hilarious type. Basically, I can't stop smiling and laughing when I'm with them...and that's all that matters.

The couple is even more fantastic than Lori's bomb-ass headband she's wearing.  Honey...WHERE DO I BUY THAT THING? freaking adorable...

and here's my favorite picture I've ever taken of Josh. We don't know the gender of our baby yet, but we do know that we are either having a boy or a tomboy...so these onesies will totally work for next year!

The halftime show (the only part Lori understands...) was a total tear-jerker. I'm not lying. Josh had to hide his tears behind his sunglasses (sorry-had to call you out, bro)! FSU retired Chief Osceola's horse, Renegade V.  Sadly, this past spring, he lost sight in one eye. We will never forget watching Renegade V at the National Championship last winter, and it was a very touching moment for the whole stadium...even this newbie, bandwagon fan had to hold back the tears.

Here is Renegade V on his last walk to the 50-yard line. Renegade VI, you have some huge horseshoes to fill!

The second half proved to be a total blowout, and the Noles won like 6,000 to 2 or something like that...

I had such a wonderful time with wonderful people in the most wonderful weather possible. That's saying a lot considering I was stone-cold sober :)

The iPhone 6 is just showing off in this no-filter picture. What a beautiful evening!

As always, we had a blast and miss my our good friends already. In fact, I think Josh had a little too much fun. I got to deal with this on the whole drive home Sunday:

We love you, Nathan and Lori. Josh says he's very sorry if he enjoyed himself too much. We hope you invite us back again next year. PLEASE :)
