Leighton...He Gone :(

Sadly, Knoxville lost one of our best today. Leighton officially left us this morning, and he is beginning a new journey in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (can I get a #rolltide)!

Leighton has spent the last 25 years of his life brightening up Knoxville with his hearty and infectious laugh. Like seriously, every bar and restaurant in town just got a whole lot more quiet and less fun with his departure. We are sooooooo sad to see him go, but I guess we're supposed to be excited for him as he pursues some sort of great "career opportunity" aka a poor excuse to leave his great friends in the dust. Stupid jobs :(

We are grateful for the great memories that we share with you, Leighton!

Leighton was a huge staple in our Sunday Funday crowd. He taught us valuable lessons such as "y'all really need to go home once it gets dark." Oh, how Mondays got so much less nauseating after that great nugget of advice!

Unfortunately, Leighton left us on a very short notice - so we didn't get to throw him the big shindig that he deserved, but we (well...not me) at least got in a farewell shot for him on Halloween:

 There were even some man-tears:

And poor Bubbaloo has a huge bromance crush on Leighton, and he was just devastated during his one last snuggle session with his best guy-friend.

We wish him the best of luck as he enters the heart of Crimson territory, and of course we left him a little something to remember his roots:

Leighton and his laugh are truly irreplaceable. Despite the sadness, we are so proud of him for taking this huge step in his life. Alabama is lucky to have him, and they better embrace him and all of his Tennessee Orange that he brings to that state!

We had one last farewell brunch with him this morning...and we felt heavy (but hopeful) hearts as he took his last few steps as a Knoxville resident. We miss him to pieces already and we can't wait for him to visit us soon!

Leighton...he gone :(
