I really don't like cheap, plastic, colorful baby items. Don't get me wrong...I've got plenty of them. And I'm thankful for them because they serve a purpose. But in a perfect world, everything we owned would be real wood and hand-painted.
And my sweet family has contributed a very important item to make my world a little more perfect:
The Highchair
Yes, Momma, I'm revealing your age. Fifty-nine short years ago, my sweet Momma sat her hind end in this chair. Shortly before my nephew, Chase, was born, my Dad fixed it all up, engraved the back, and painted a sweet cow. Chase and Sam spent many, many hours eating mashed potatoes and mac n cheese in this beautiful chair just like their Grammy did. And now it's Jace's turn to sit where his Grammy sat. And someday there will be new babies to sit where their Great-Grammy once sat. It's such a heartwarming piece of furniture. I just love it :)
September 14th was a big day for our sweet Jace. Of course we had to deck him out in one of Grammy's peace-bibs too:
It was a special and memorable evening. And you know what? I think the pups were even more excited than us :)
