I'll be frank: week 36 of preggersville is awful. I could go on for days about how miserable life is, but I'm going to do my best to forget about the aches, the pains, and the swelling for the duration of this particular blog post...and focus on the fun (ugh).
So - my friends and I are gambling fools. Not necessarily in the "hit up the slots in Tunica" type of way, but more in the "let's bet on how many months until so and so gets engaged/breaks-up/starts to cry" type of way. So it's just natural that we would introduce Baby Jace into this wonderful way of the world. And we created this:
Here's the deal: It was a five dollar buy-in. If you pick the date that Baby Jace is actually introduced into this world, you win. If he's born on a date that isn't chosen, you keep your money. If I schedule a C-section, all bets are off.
There's $150 on the line here, y'all. I mean...that's more than I had in my own college fund.
Lots of special dates that our Baby Jace could land on:
we've got his Aunt Kara's b-day on 1/31
his Uncle Patrick's b-day on Groundhog's Day
his Papaw Dwight's b-day on 2/6
his actual due-date on 2/12
his own Dad's b-day on 2/13 (also a Friday the 13th!!)
and Valentine's day on 2/14
But based on my current state of affairs, I was really hoping Camille would be the early winner with her pick from this past weekend. My next hope is Dusty winning this Thursday. Hey-that marks his official introduction to "full-term" at 37 weeks.
Best of luck, friends! And Baby Jace - I'm ready as long as you are. Let's get this show on the road :)
